Long-term Mortgage Arrears
‘Out of Sight, Out of Mind’
December 3, 2020 at 08h00 to 09h30
About this event
For its inaugural online event, the RHH Institute, set up by former Secretary General of the Department of Finance, John Moran, as a new forum for alternative thinking, has gathered together a panel of experts from the Central Bank of Ireland, academia, industry and consumer advocates for a fully frank discussion on this seemingly intractable problem. We will look at how bad the problem still is and analyse what needs to change so that the nightmare ends for these long-suffering households and their lenders. We will look to see who should be doing more and what might more that be.

Fireside Chat with Edmund Honohan, Master of the High Court
Edmund needs no introduction to many of you as he has been very involved in the thought leadership around mortgage arrears in Ireland and spoken widely on alternative approaches. He has built up a strong reputation for new thinking and understanding of the challenges of finding a solution to the problems in this area, working with stakeholders right across the spectrum. This should really be a fitting end to the morning’s discussions.
